snow day
It is a snow day.

We woke to the sound of whistling robins, wearing their puffy jackets and dotted in branches all around:

Why here? Turns out we have the only running water in the hood:
Since it's a sno-slo-day we decide to make suet. Well, maybe not for us, but birds love it. Lots of fat mixed with seeds, nuts and grains. Chirp!
First you take all those extra pinecones from around the house:


Next, melt down some lard and peanut butter. Poor birds, I'm going to kill them with that hydrogenated oil. Smush the mixture into the pinecone.

Then you mix in bird seed and that old quinoa you had stuffed in the back of the pantry.
It's messy.


Hang them all around:

Then wait for the birds to notice:

And wait:
And wait:
